Hey! I'm Amy!
I'm an actress based in Manchester. Having played 'Maddie' in Coronation Street and 'Jenny' in the Netflix Original Safe, I enjoy all aspects of filming and creating entertainment, be it in front of or behind the camera.
Last Summer was my debut role as writer and director, and since launching the project two years ago I've also created another short film and written a mini series.

Hi, I'm Danny, I'm the 1st Assistant Camera on Last Summer. That's me on the set of Cadence, my first job with Will. Outside of my degree, I've been working with Will for about two years now, developing my skills and building a network. I'm a Yorkshire lad (Leeds born and bred) but I finished uni in Salford last year and with me turning 21 during the shoot, I was the youngest member of the Last Summer team! Hey, I'm Alastair. Originally from Bedford, I have been living in Manchester for the last eight years. I came to read lots of books at university but I stayed to set up a theatre company and start a career as an actor. Prior to Last Summer, I had just finished a show in which I played a terminally unpopular and thoroughly irritating kid named Sebastian. A far cry from my role in Last Summer as the tragically good-looking, universally popular boyfriend, Ben. At least I can't say I'm being typecast. I've certainly come some way since I fell off stage in my debut at age six as the little bear in Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Hi, I'm Maciej, I currently live in London where I completed my Music Production degree. My family lives in Oldham which is where I went to school with Amy. Having done a module on recording sound for film at uni, I was taught in more detail on the job by Billy. I also composed one of the songs in the film with Amy and found the song for the finale! (You're welcome, Amy).
Hi I'm Will, a Director of Photography originally from Hereford. I studied in Cardiff and eventually ended up in Nottingham. I've been making films for the past eleven years and working as a DP for the last six. I've shot three feature films, many music videos and A LOT of short films! As a DP I am responsible for the whole look of the film, taking charge of the lighting and camera side of the production, which is fantastic because I am a massive nerd for camera equipment and lighting! The best part of the job is meeting new directors and working with them to realise their vision for the film.
My name is Kate Newall and I live near York. I've been in the film/TV industry for four and a half years and just before meeting Amy, I was working as the standby art director on a Jack Dee sitcom called Bad Movie. On Last Summer I was the entire art department rolled into one! In between art department jobs I tutor child actors on set. In the picture on the left, you can see what ridiculous antics we all get up to at work!
Hello there, Billy here. I've been a Sound Mixer in TV and Film for... well... a long time. Amy reached out to me to work on Last Summer through Will, who I'd previously worked with. There's a recording floating around somewhere of when I sat in for Amy and Ali whilst they changed costume so Will could line up the shot. I told a story. I can't remember what it was about. But everyone seemed to enjoy it. So there we go.
Hey! I'm Sacha. Normally I'm an actress but on Last Summer I was a 3rd Assistant Director in the first half of the shoot! I've worked on Coronation Street, Mr Selfridge and the feature film Apostasy. On this film I was a bit of a mother hen, making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time and kept an eye on continuity. I go to the Manchester School of Acting with some of the guys working on this and Amy and I have both played girlfriend to the same character on Corrie (but Sian was obviously Sophie's favourite...)
Hello! I'm Matt! I'm from a small town near Chester and I'm the other 3rd AD on Last Summer. I'm an artist and an actor by trade but I'm trying my hand at working behind the camera at the minute! A 3rd AD's job, along with what Sach said, is to look after the background actors. I'm one of the students of The Manchester School of Acting which is where I met Amy and before Last Summer we had parts in season 9 of Moving On so this was our second job together.
Hey there! I'm Jim and I edited Last Summer. I'm a Home Counties resident, born in Wales and with European blood. While not under the tyrannical mastermind (I mean, the creative visionary, Amy's direction), I run my own video production business. Amy is a friend of the family and we all love her dearly. Totally behind her in getting this short finished and so I dedicated a whole summer to help her make hers. (See what I did there?). After screening the director's cut version, Amy, Will and myself got our heads together to create the festival version which you can watch here.
I'm Ben and I'm originally from Worthing. I'm the final member of the AD team on Last Summer as the Floor Runner and I bridged the gap between Sacha and Matt coming and going. I've been studying Screen Acting at MSA with these guys for four years. Before university, where I studied Exercise Physiology, I was in a couple of plays including Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella and Touch and Go. This was my first gig in the TV/film industry and since wrapping Last Summer, Amy and I starred in her second short film Shifts which is due for completion by Christmas 2018!
